Engineering 112: Introduction to Engineering

In the spring semester of 2016, I took engineering 112 where I was introduced to topics such as statics and dynamics, circuitry, and Excel sheet design. As our final project, a team composed of myself and three others developed simple circuits and lesson plans that Explore More Discovery Museum, a children's museum in Harrisonburg, VA, could implement into a future exhibit serving 9-12 year olds.

Learn and Build

Measure twice and cut once. After doing calculations, I was able to move into the fabrication shop to build a balance beam specific to my student ID number.

Prototype

Circuit prototyping for the final project. This phase of ideation allowed my 112 team to design simple circuits that we could develop for learning material.

Circuit 1: LED Dimmer

Finalize

Circuit 2: Low Pass Filter Module
Circuit 3: Motor and LEDs

Final prototypes for the 112 project. All these designs focused upon visual or auditory results after being built, a factor my team wanted to incorporate for teaching kids simple circuitry.
